Tradition study tours for students and Operations Management Farming (FMT) and Animal Production Technology (TPA) on the campus of St. Hyacinthe of the ITA is more than 20 years. It all started with a partnership with the Lycée Louis-Pasteur Marmilhat in Auvergne. Since 1987 numerous exchanges with the agency have helped hundreds of students, faculty and industry partners on both sides of the Atlantic to share their knowledge, interests, ambitions.
Over the years other destinations were added: Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Switzerland, Texas. All these trips proved invaluable additional training for our graduates who are left grow professionally and personally. They also allowed the ITA, its partners and sponsors to shine on the international stage.
Wishing to continue this tradition, graduates TPA-2010 accompanied by Melanie and Jacques Godbout Latulippe, teachers, activated since September 2008 to organize a study tour that will take them to the Country Netherlands in March 2010 in order to study the organization of livestock and their environment socio-economic development.
Several reasons have justified the choice of this destination. A bit like in Quebec, the main livestock are milk and pork. The high density of agriculture is a country where agri-environmental concerns are present. A number of companies in various sectors of animal production (feeding, breeding, equipment etc.) and are in connection with Quebec have their headquarters or major facilities. The structures of support to agriculture, land use, trade with different countries (EU countries development etc.) are other interesting aspects that characterize the country and will strengthen the training of our students.
We believe it is important to give our students the opportunity to develop this openness to the world and we invite you to join us on this adventure through this blog.
