was six months ago, we were in Vietnam. Mandatory stop for a few days in the legendary Halong Bay. It was not very nice but we realized after speaking with different people that the radiant sun rarely shows itself, rather it is the haze that dominates and that's what we've had a lot of the time. No cruise for two nights on a junk, or "cruise" a few hours with dozens of tourists roaring. We rented a boat for us, with three crew members. Admittedly, we were treated to tour base but at least we were quieter. And we were treated to another cruise, taking the ferry to the island of Cat Ba: the scenery was so magnificent that the sites where tourists are fed, but there was nobody, except us and Vietnamese at work.
